I'm not sure if anyone is still following TNW's development at this point, it's been so long since I've posted an update!
But the game has not been forgotten. It had to take a back seat to a while to holiday workloads and various real-life commitments, but it exists and I'm starting to get back into it.
I did several more rounds of play-testing recently. I'm not happy with where things stand currently. The game plays alright and is easy to understand, but it's missing something.
I believe when I simplified the rules, I went to far - I made it simple, but it lacks strategy. I'm working on ways to add more strategy to the game while still keeping its new, streamlined feel.
I've also toyed with the idea of going strictly to a two-player game.
I don't know, we'll see. I'm still optimistic, but this is, it turns out, a very complex process. I now see why many games take a couple of years to be developed.
