I feel like I haven't written a new post in forever. I've been busy and still doing creative projects on the weekends. Most of that has been script writing for a video game, though - nothing I can really share here yet.
But I think it's time to build a new spaceship! I just can't help myself when it comes to classic sci-fi ship models. I definitely have a weakness.
I picked this one up on eBay:
It's a reprint of a classic model, molded in green, glow-in-the-dark plastic.
As you can see, there aren't a lot of pieces - but I'm OK with that. I'm actually most interested in doing the finish on this model. I want to try something new. I don't plan to leave it glowy-green. Instead, I'm going to spray paint it flat black and then use pewter Rub 'n Buff to give it a nice, metalic look.
On the other hand, maybe I'll go gold. I haven't fully decided yet.
I've never used it before, but I'm excited to try it out. I got the inspiration after watching this video:
I'm probably going to give it a try in something else first, though. I have a couple of $3 generic "foam dart guns" laying around that look like blaster pistols. I may practice on one of those first.
In the mean time, I've got some cleanup work to do. This kit is pretty rough.
