Last week, we ventured 160ft underground into Luray Cavern, in Virtinia. Here's some of w hat we saw.
The water reflects the cave ceiling perfectly. Though it looks several feet deep, it's only about 18-24 inches at its deepeste point.
There were some amazing rock formations in this 400-450 million year old cave.

This giant stlactite fell during a major earth event about 7,000 years ago.
At one point, I looked up and saw this directly overhead.
I have many more photos from the cavern, but I haven't had time to go through them. I may post more at some point.
